Sailing
Dry Tortugas
Southwest Florida
For two days, we ate, read and worked the Ham bands, without leaving Vamoose, while the wind stayed above 25 knots in the anchorage.

Early on 26 January we sailed toward Key West.  The wind was forecast to be 20 to 25 knots out of the NE.  Our course was near 85 degrees for the entire trip. Close hauled, with a 120 percent genny and a deep reef in the main, the apparent wind ranged between 22 and 34 knots.

Our speed was never under 7.2 knots and we maintained in excess of 8.5 knots for over 5 hours.

One of our best sails ever!!
